Environment monitoring
Systematic measurements of the environment in order to observe, and sometimes forecast, the changes taking place and in it. Monitoring may concerne specific ecosystems (e.g. forests, lakes, rivers), or particular elements of the environment (air, soil, water), and animate nature; it cover the whole world, continent, country, region, administrative unit. Important monitoring supplement are measurements of the amount of pollutants released into the environment, e.g. dust and gases released into the atmosphere and sewage - into the waters.
